Baby Cakes Usher in New Year


It's been a while since I've posted but life has a way of taking over from time to time. The third baby cake I made last year was for a friend of a friend. It was to be all buttercream, sweet and pink and fluffy, and gluten free. What fun! The cake was made with almond, Greek yogurt, and lemons from the Gluten-Free Goddess website. It was an easy recipe even though the ingredients were a bit pricey. The pink and fluffy part was especially fun, and I sculpted baby booties out of gum paste before covering them with frosting. This made them totally 3D and very light, and it even let you look inside each bootie. The cake was well received and very pretty. It's remarkable how different three baby showers can be!
